How to auto-submit your blog to the new digg

Digg has changed their interface as well as added and updated features.

One new feature is importing feeds so you can automatically submit your RSS feed as digg articles.

Here’s how to do it:

Log into your digg account and click on Setting.

Click Import Feeds on the left hand side of the page.

Next, enter the URL of the RSS feed you’d like to submit as content for digg. It’s likely www.yourblog.com/feed

Choose the topic from the drop down menu which best describes your content and click Add Feed.

To verify your identity, you’ll need to copy and paste a key into your last post. I prefer to the the html comment, which looks something like this:

Copy and paste that anywhere in the HTML code of the last post in your RSS feed.

Lastly, click Verify Now to confirm your identity.

Now, every time you blog a post, it’s automatically submitted to digg.

How to clean up leftovers after uninstalling applications

Revo Uninstaller in an application which monitors and assists in uninstalling other applications. Sometimes the application uninstaller does not completely uninstall the application leaving files and registry keys. Leftover files could be particularly troublesome for those conscious of security as well as anti-malware and firewall programs because they may interfere with each other.

When you uninstall a program through Revo Uninstaller, it first creates a system restore point before running the standard application uninstaller. After the conventional uninstall is complete, Revo Uninstaller scans for leftover files, registry keys, etc. and then allows you to select which files and registry you’d like to remove.

Click here to download Revo Uninstaller.

Here’s a quick walkthrough of the installation:

Select your language, click OK

Click Next.

Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

Click Install

Click Finish.

To uninstall a program, select it and then click Uninstall.

Revo Uninstaller will ask you, “Are you sure you want to uninstall the selected program?” Click Yes.

Choose an Uninstall mode. Moderate is sufficient for most programs. For the most thorough cleaning after an uninstall, click Advanced. Click Next.

After the initial analysis, Revo Uninstaller will open the application’s standard uninstaller. Run the application uninstall as you would ordinarily and then click Next in the Revo Uninstaller to scan for leftovers.

After the final scan, Revo will display the any leftovers registry keys it found. Select the registry keys you’d like to remove and click Delete. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

After the registry keys, Revo will display leftover files from the uninstall. Select the files you’d like to remove and click Delete. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

How to recover your Windows administrator password with Ophcrack

If you’ve forgotten your Windows administrator password and cannot access Windows, there are methods of resetting your password; however, any encrypted files will no longer be accessible. Therefore, it’s preferable to attempt to recover your password before resetting it. Ophcrack is one of the best free Windows password recovery tools available. Ophcrack has 2 liveCD versions available one for Windows XP and the other Vista, which supports both Windows Vista and Windows 7 installations.

Click here to download the bootable LiveCD ISO file here.

After the download, burn the ISO files to CD.

You may have to change the order of boot sequence in your BIOS to boot up from the CD.

Once the Ophcrack boot menu appears on the screen, select ‘Boot automatically’ to automatically boot up Linux and run Ophcrack on your Windows installation. After the GUI loads, Ophcrack will start working on your Windows passwords and display the results.

Ophcrack can usually crack a password in under 10 minutes, although it depends on the performance of your computer and the strength of your password. Ophcrack seems to be able to crack Windows XP passwords easier than Vista/7 passwords.
